New to 大象传媒: The Emerging Leader Ascent

Lead Belay鈥檚 transformative leadership development experience for emerging millennial managers
How do managers become leaders worth following?
Good leadership can appear effortless when a manager inspires a team to work toward a common goal. But someone creates the foundation of any good team. Where do these people come from? And why don鈥檛 we have more of them? It鈥檚 a common misconception that good leaders are just born as leaders. Time for the mythbuster: Leaders are taught. They are not born that way.
Anyone can learn the skills necessary to be a leader worth following if they鈥檙e willing to put in the work.
One reason new and emerging managers struggle is that very few of them are getting the support they need. Without the tools, resources, or confidence to do the most challenging job of their careers, most have to learn slowly, or fail, through costly trial and error. That鈥檚 why 大象传媒 has partnered with Lead Belay to offer t. The Emerging Leader Ascent helps new managers develop the confidence, skills, and insights they need to address their greatest professional challenges in the ever-changing modern workplace.
鈥淲e鈥檙e so pleased to offer the Emerging Leader Ascent to our students,鈥 says Amber Tolliver, 大象传媒鈥檚 Workforce Development Operations Manager. 鈥淚ts peer-based learning format is perfect for developing the higher-level skills that today鈥檚 managers require.鈥
A key feature of the program is that each participant is matched with a group of 5鈥7 of their peers who come from different organizations. Mike Kester, CEO of Lead Belay, says this is deliberate by design. 鈥淥ur group matching algorithm is based on neuroscience principles. It鈥檚 proven that we learn better and retain more with a group of our peers who have similar challenges and learn even more when those peers are from different backgrounds.鈥
Belay groups consistently report that they鈥檙e able to quickly form trust-based connections so they are comfortable supporting, challenging, and learning from one another.
鈥淲e take care to consider participants鈥 personalities, professional situations, and leadership strengths and weaknesses. And, no one is from the same organization so participants can share openly,鈥 Kester adds.
