High School Select CE Students @HS:

Concurrent enrollment students taking classes at their high school or at an ����ý campus must connect with their high school counselor to ensure that their ����ý tuition is being paid by the district. Additionally, all CE students must authorize the College Opportunity Fund (COF).

Home school students are considered self-pay students, and as such, will be responsible for the tuition of their course.

Why is there a balance on my student account?

This is normal. A balance may reflect on your account until payment is received from a sponsoring school or district. Balances can also exist if you have not applied for and authorized COF for the term.

Students are responsible for paying fees and courses not covered by their sponsoring school or district. Tuition and fees will appear on all student accounts when they register for the term and will remain on the account until the appropriate High School or School District is invoiced for the applicable term. This balance will not cause you to be dropped from your courses. Concurrent Enrollment is an opportunity for students to learn how to be successful as a college student while still receiving the support of high school counselors and family. We encourage high school students to learn more about the rigors of college by considering the following:

Time Management

It can be challenging for students to balance high school, college, friends, work, family commitments, etc. all at once. Students are always encouraged to consider their commitments and prioritize their time so they can be successful in college classes. College Select concurrent enrollment classes at ����ý will meet more infrequently than high school classes. 

Rigor

These are college courses and students are expected to rise to the higher standards set by their instructors. Generally, college classes expect approximately 2 hours of homework per week outside of every hour of class. So, if you’re registered for a 2-credit class, you can expect roughly 6 hours of weekly homework. Maturity

Students are expected to demonstrate a high level of maturity when taking college classes, including advocating for themselves when they have questions or need help and demonstrating appropriate behavior in class. Students who take classes on campus will be enrolled with students of all ages and may participate in classroom discussions or materials that students/parents may consider more “mature” content.

Deadlines

In college, a deadline is a deadline. This includes registration and drop dates at the college as well as assignment deadlines within courses. Encourage your student to be aware of these important dates and to schedule appropriately to meet deadlines.

The  provides students with privacy of their student record upon turning 18, or upon enrolling in college classes at any age. As a result of FERPA, colleges are not able to share information about a student’s record with anyone other than the student without a FERPA waiver on file. Students participating in College Now can utilize the learning management system, called Desire2Learn, to show others their progress in classes and grades. 

Drop Deadline

Dropping a CE class if you’re registered as a High School Select and taking classes at your High School: If you’re taking classes at your high school through the High School Select program, you’ll want to talk with your high school counselor about dropping the course from your schedule before the specified drop date so it doesn’t reflect on your ����ý transcript.

Dropping a CE class if you’re registered through College Select and taking classes at an ����ý Campus: If you are taking the class at an ����ý campus through College Select, you’ll need to drop yourself by logging into my����ý and selecting the Navigate icon before the specified drop date so it doesn’t reflect on your ����ý transcript. Withdraw Deadline

Withdrawing from a CE class if you’re registered as a High School Select and taking classes at your High School: If you end up moving out of the area or are at risk of failing the CE course, you might consider withdrawing from a course. This will reflect a W on your ����ý transcripts. For High School Select students, talk to your counselor about this option by the appropriate withdrawal deadline.

Withdrawing from a CE class if you’re registered as a College Select and taking classes at an ����ý Campus: Talk with your ����ý instructor about your grade and, if necessary, withdraw from the course by accessing my����ý by the appropriate withdrawal deadline. The COF – – provides stipends to eligible undergraduate students in Colorado. This money pays a portion of your CE tuition at ����ý. Remember to make sure you check "YES" to allow ����ý to apply and authorize your College Opportunity Fund (COF) when completing the admission application. The College Opportunity Fund is an important part of covering your tuition.

After you’ve applied, you may notice that your account has holds which prevent registration. Some of the forms below will help you to resolve these holds.

Selective Service Hold

Because ����ý is a public institution, we require almost all male US citizens and male immigrants aged 18-25 to register with Selective Service. It's important to know that even though he is registered, a man will not automatically be inducted into the military. You can register at and then submit this proof to ����ý.

Underage Hold

Students under age 17 will be assigned an “underage hold” after they complete their application. This hold will be discussed and removed after you attend the Advising & Registration session.

FERPA

As a CE student, you have the opportunity to receive academic advising through your Concurrent Enrollment Navigator or Specialist. ����ý staff will help you:

• Create an academic plan and choose the correct courses
• Find the degree or certificate program that matches your goals
• Understand the registration process
• Discover the right transfer options and institutions to meet your needs
• Access resources on campus that will help you succeed in the classroom

All ����ý Concurrent Enrollment classes will appear on your official ����ý transcript. You may order your official transcript online through the instructions detailed on the ����ý Transcripts page. Transcripts can be sent electronically or in the mail for $3.

The following courses are offered by ����ý's Concurrent Enrollment program. They may not be available at your high school. Check with your high school counselor to see what concurrent enrollment courses are offered at your school. *Campus Select students taking classes @����ý are eligible to take any classes listed in our ����ý catalog.

Are home school students eligible to take ����ý classes? Please follow the steps on the Getting Started page, including the additional steps for taking courses at an ����ý campus. ����ý will accept your homeschool transcript to view your cumulative GPA for pre-requisites.
