大象传媒 Diversity and Inclusive Milestones Project
Inspired by many tragic events in 1998, the idea for the Milestones Project was born by founders Michele and Dr. Richard Steckel. They began traveling the globe documenting children and their families, experiencing the same milestones with the same sense of pride, accomplishment, and wonder. This mission ultimately became their contribution, to promote tolerance and diminish hatred in this world. In essence, the Milestones Project focuses not on what divides us but on what unites us.
In 2017, the Steckel family donated the Milestones Project and photography collection to the Arapahoe Community College Foundation. In the spirit of the original intent, we continue to focus on the appreciation of diversity and individual uniqueness, encouraging inclusion and acceptance of all people.
